2008 Biennial Meeting of the Conference on Faith and History,

Bluffton University, September 18-20

(Undergraduate Segment: September 17-18)

Call for Papers and Proposals

Graduate students are encouraged to submit papers!

The theme for the 2008 Fall Meetings of the Conference on Faith and History is "World History and History that Changed the World".

CFH meetings are intentionally couched in broad terms to attract as many scholars as possible. In this spirit, "World History" should be understood to encompass all geographical areas, historical periods, and paper topics that in some way touch on global and cross-cultural themes. The "Changed the World" aspect of the conference theme should likewise be interpreted broadly to include peace and justice movements and social and cultural developments that have significantly impacted history from the local to the international levels. Session proposals are especially encouraged, but the organization will also consider individual paper proposals that will be organized into sessions wherever possible.

THE DEADLINE FOR PROPOSALS IS April 30, 2008. Proposals should be 1-2 pages, double spaced and submitted to:
Barry_Hankins@Baylor.edu.

 2008 Graduate Student Reception

Saturday morning, September 20

Attend the first annual Graduate Student Reception held during this year's Biennual Meeting. Graduate students who register for the biennual meeting are welcome to attend without further cost. The reception will include a light breakfast, time for networking and a brief presentation from our Graduate Student Representative, Lauran Kerr.

If you would like to discuss ideas for sessions or papers, talk to others about car pooling or room sharing, why not start some conversation on our discussion board?

2009 Meeting at the American Historical Association, New York City, January 2-5

In addition to the Biennual Meetings, CFH hosts a panel session and breakfast reception at the annual meetings of the AHA. More information on the 2009 program will be forthcoming.
